Katherine & Michael kept calling this an elopement. And I suppose in many ways it was, but it was maybe the sweetest elopement ever because it was one where all their loved ones were in attendance. Michael and Katherine live in the Bay area, and when it came time to plan a wedding, I think they just decided it was all too much. Too much planning, too many expectations, too much stuff that didn’t mean anything to them.

They’d never been to Austin so they decided to come visit and get married while they were here, and they invited friends and family to join them. These causal gatherings are so often our very favorite weddings, because deciding your going to do it your own way gives you permission to forget about all the unimportant things and focus on making an event that really celebrates who the couple is. These are our favorites. they all look really different, and some have mote traditional rituals than others, but we love it when the focus is so clearly on the couple, on their commitment to one another and their future together, and less about impressing people.

I’m in love with every moment we got to spend with these two.

I also make my debut in front of the camera at this wedding, helping out with the bow tie. We’re a full-service boutique, guys.
